As an actor, Gibson Frazier has performed with such distinguished off-Broadway theatres and companies as Playwrights Horizons, The Civilians, Les Freres Corbusier, The Vineyard, Classic Stage Company, Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre, The Cherry Lane, New Georges, The Foundry, The Playwrights Realm, Barrow Street, and Clubbed Thumb, and is a founding member of the Los Angeles-based theatre company, Buffalo Nights. He has been named one of the best off-Broadway actors by both THE VILLAGE VOICE and TIME OUT NEW YORK.
