SOME OF THE PEOPLE opens at the Brooklyn Museum

IMG-1524.JPG

David Levine's SOME OF THE PEOPLE ALL OF THE TIME is now running at the Brooklyn Museum.  Gibson is performing in the piece, as the museum describes, "examines the fragility of our democracy. It confronts a timely and disturbing question: What if a member of a gathering—a rally, an audience, even a party—is there under false pretenses? Recently, there have been a number of disturbing revelations about this kind of dishonesty, such as paid “protesters” infiltrating demonstrations, the proliferation of fake Facebook and Twitter accounts, and accusations of “crisis acting” in the media. In each case, feigned and fabricated identities—or even invoking the 'fake' as a means to undermine a given stance or action—are being deployed for political gain."

Gibson performs Thursdays through Sunday through July 8.

Elite Entertainer of U.S. Troops

Gibson has just returned from Kuwait where he had the honor of performing for a coalition of international troops at Camp Arifjan Army Base.

Arts in the Armed Forces, an organization founded by Adam Driver and Joanne Tucker to bring theatre to active duty personnel, veterans, and their families, invited Gibson and a handful of other actors including Natasha Lyonne, Jay O. Sanders, Kristine Nielsen, Armando Riesco, and Saidah Arrika Ekulona to perform pieces from contemporary American plays.  There was even a film crew from the news channel VICE in tow as they're putting together a piece on AITAF.

It was an extraordinary and unforgettable experience for everyone involved.  And above are several photographs from the trip.
